Information Technology Authority (ITA) and Sultan Qaboos University had launched in 2012 Oman Free & Open Source Software Mirror server. The mirror server hosts most popular FOSS packages locally to overcome bandwidth challenge when downloading or updating packages. Mirror server is hosting also OpenDVD project which provides 50 Open Source software for Microsoft Windows users. Mirror server can be reached through link mirror.squ.edu.om .
